Traditional Phone Line Vs VOIP Phone Service - What Should You Use? ~ Robin Thicke "Magic"

brought to you by: AHMTRAVEL.COM

Many consumers are trying to decide whether to keep their old Ma bell lines. Prices are going up, service is going down. People are smart. There see all the junk fees that are added on top of their phone service bills and many are just plain fed up!

It seems everywhere you look, homes are being outfitted with high speed cable lines or DSL lines because computer access is so important for all of us. That is where VOIP service comes in. VOIP stands for voice over internet protocol. Simply put, talking on your phone through the internet. In order for VOIP to work, it must run over a high speed internet line such as cable or DSL. It does NOT work on dial up networks. With the cost of high speed internet for the home becoming more and more reasonable it is a natural progression for more homes to switch for their home telephone services.

In the past the major complaint with VOIP was that there was a hollow sound to it. Technology, especially bandwidth from your internet carrier has improved the quality immensely. There may still be times when you get a hollow sound. It can happen occasionally, if you are downloading large music files while on the phone. However, this is easily rectified by simply pausing the download.

The major benefit of VOIP is the cost. For example, let say in a specific region of the country the monthly cost of your telephone service is $50-$60. This price would include a few extra features that you can purchase from the telephone company ala carte. VOIP service typically comes with all the features you could want on your phone service. The difference, price. With one particular company the monthly cost was under $30. That is a huge difference in price and represent a large yearly savings for you.

When considering VOIP you must also do your research. There are various different companies that offer this service. Some are better than others from a feature point of view as well as a customer service point of view. And, the companies that advertise the most are not necessarily the best. Do your due diligence and reap the benefits of this greatly improved technology.
